Where does the name come from?

“Creative” is basically my brain in a nutshell — an ADHD-powered whirlwind that’s always dreaming up new ideas, chasing the next fun adventure, and wanting to learn EVERTHING haha.
I’m the kind of person who lives in the moment, finds magic in the little things, feels deeply and genuinely believes life is meant to be experienced, laughed through, and captured while it’s happening — not later.

And then there’s “Joy.” My nan’s name, also my mum’s and my middle name too — so it’s something we carry together. She was (and always will be) one of my favourite humans in the whole world. Her favourite colour was green, she travelled the world right up until she was 96, and she lived life the way we all secretly hope to: full of adventure, laughter, kindness, and love. Family meant everything to her, and she never missed a chance for a smile, a joke, or a little bit of fun.

So...“Creative Joy” isn’t just a business name — it’s a heartfelt blend of who I am and the incredible woman who inspired me to embrace life, cherish every moment, and always choose happiness.
Her legacy lives on in how i choose to live my life.

Creativity, connection, family, and joy in every little moment that life has to offer.

When I’m not behind the camera capturing life’s magic, I actually have a full-time job in the fundraising world, which i have done for 16 years — and honestly, I love it. It’s one of those roles that fills your cup and reminds you that people can do amazing things when they come together for a good cause.

Sport has always been a huge part of my life (back when I was younger and far more agile… now im what we call 'Experienced' 😅).
I still play football and spend most weekends at a pitch somewhere — either playing, cheering, or volunteering with my women’s football team. I help as a volunteer to run the social media, and do my small part in raising the profile of the women’s game at Chelmsford City… basically, if there’s a football and/or a good cause involved, I’m probably there. Outside of work and sport, I’m what you’d call happily chaotic busy!

I always have a project on the go — right now it’s renovating a house (with my brother doing most of the actual hard work while I provide moral support and snacks). I’m also completely, unapologetically dog-obsessed — yes, I am that person who will stop mid-conversation or halfway down the high street to say hello to every dog I see. No shame!!

Traveling or a nice spa day or massage, that’s my therapy. A few years ago I decided to stop waiting for a “partner” or a travel buddy to go with, and just go do it!! So now I solo travel and try to explore a few new places every year. New adventures, new stories, and plenty of moments that remind me how big and beautiful the world really is.

Basically… if I’m not working, playing sport, travelling, renovating, photographing, or chasing after someone’s dog for a cuddle — I’m probably planning my next project or adventure :)
